Corrective Rape: Correcting Hate

Lesbians are often misunderstood, misrepresented and abused.

Life as a lesbian in Jamaica is explored in the documentary Corrective Rape: Correcting Hate, produced by Shantal Pellington. It is told honestly and with a burning need to bring light to the plight of this group of women.

On his historic Town Hall Meeting in Jamaica in 2015, Barrack Obama lauded the courage and activism of Angeline Jackson, a Jamaican lesbian who was a victim of corrective rape. In this documentary, she shares her story of pain and discrimination, as well as of her hope for a more tolerant Jamaica.
